Interests and Passions Outside of Teaching

My academic interests include Church History, especially modern Church History, United States Church History, the Evangelical Movement, and the Holiness Movement. I am also interested in the New Testament, especially the Gospel of Luke and Acts, and I have a growing interest in the theology of justice.

Outside of the classroom, I enjoy nurturing my lawn, serving at Thornapple Evangelical Covenant Church, spending time with my wife and our adult children, and following the Detroit Tigers, Minnesota Twins, and Chicago Cubs.

Additional Information

I teach at Cornerstone University because it offers an opportunity to join with others in discipling young men and women for service in and for the Kingdom of God. In addition, the culture on campus is inviting and invigorating. In short, I teach at Cornerstone University because I like it!
