With a passion for worship and music, Walters taught and led the church in numerous aspects of worship renewal, conducted seasonal choral-orchestral concerts, launched hand bells and concert series ministries, led two choir tours to Europe and produced two choral recordings. Following the second choir tour, he was invited to teach a worship seminar in Germany for pastors, musicians and worship leaders.

He studied under Dr. Charles Smith at Michigan State University.
