Financial Aid Process for Current Students
- Complete and submit the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) as soon as possible after January 1 (we recommend filing before March 1). Forms are available online at www.fafsa.ed.gov.
*Forms are still accessible after this date, although priority consideration is given to those who file before March 1. Late applications are welcome and will be processed with all available aid.
Tip: List Cornerstone University’s Federal School Code (002266) first in Step 6 on the FAFSA. This will guarantee that Cornerstone receives the results from filing the FAFSA.
Tip: If you don’t have a PIN go to www.pin.ed.gov and request one. Make sure you save your PIN for future FAFSAs and loan applications.

- Explore additional options for financial assistance. Contact Student Financial Services to discuss special or unusual circumstances such as siblings in Christian school, parents in college or a significant job change/loss. These documented circumstances may affect your eligibility for additional financial aid. Research private outside scholarships through local business, churches and foundations.

Endowed scholarships are available through the generous donors who support the mission of Cornerstone University. Applications must be submitted and received to the Student Financial Services office by the first Monday in February.
- If you receive a request from us for more information, submit it as completely and quickly as possible.
- After all required information has been received; you will receive a financial aid award notification. Award notifications will begin early April.
- Review your financial aid award notification. Financial aid awards might include some or all of the following types of awards: scholarships, grants, federal loans and work study eligibility. Apply for federal loans if needed.
- Search for alternative financial aid possibilities including loans and other scholarships.
Tip: If you receive additional loans or scholarships, please notify the student financial services office. When we receive documentation, we will add the aid to your financial aid package.
