Short-term mission trips provide a great context for discipleship, personal transformation, exposure to missions and learning within a cross-cultural setting. Therefore, we are committed to providing students with a variety of opportunities to serve on GO teams throughout the year. During J-Term, Spring Break and summer, teams travel to serve in a variety of ways for established mission agencies.

The primary goal for GO trips is to provide students with a cross-cultural experience that promotes a commitment to discipleship, diversity, service and advancement of the gospel throughout the world. Cornerstone seeks to meet this goal while providing significant ministry support for long-term missionaries.

Teams are selected during the fall and spring semester. Applicants are interviewed and selected on the basis of maturity, previous GO experience, contributions to the team, commitment to missions and future goals. Once selected, team members will raise support to pay for their trips. They are also required to attend weekly team meetings that focus on trip preparation, team building, cultural training, leadership development and spiritual growth.

Minga Ndjerareou is the Assistant Director of Global Service.
