The economics minor is intended to prepare students intuitively, analytically, and quantitatively to embrace both macroeconomic and microeconomic sets of knowledge and to outline economic problems providing solutions within a Christian framework. A special feature of the program is the opportunity for students to visit China and other nations on a short or longer-term basis expanding their knowledge, enhancing their worldview, and opening up global opportunities for service and employment.
An economics student enjoys a challenging and rigorous environment and has a desire to increase his or her analytical skills as they draw application to a variety of economic situations. The program is broad enough to prepare students for positions in management, marketing, finance, government, international business, economic development, the social sciences, & post-graduate work in any area of business, education, economics, the social sciences, or law.
Business opportunities include positions with Alticor/Amway, the Federal Reserve, World Relief, insurance, banking, governmental agencies, church-related work, and NGOs.
Students that succeed are those who have broad interests in business and economics that desire a strong entrée into a business vocation whether profit, non-profit, or Christian service. Others succeed who want to be well-prepared for graduate work.
