Through the Communication & Media Studies Division, students can now earn a bachelor of arts in theatre with an emphasis in music theatre. The new emphasis engages students in the theatre core with private voice lessons, music theatre workshops and dance classes in ballet, jazz, tap and modern dance styles. The theatre arts emphasis features internships, acting and directing opportunities and a generalist approach to theatre. This emphasis partners with the Fine Arts Division and adheres to NASM and NAST standards.

The skills and abilities developed through a major in theatre serve as the building blocks for a wide range of occupations and career paths. Cornerstone University offers J-term trips to New York, Chicago and Stratford. Nearby, students can apply for Chicago Internships and work in numerous local community theatres to showcase talent.
