Through the Communication & Media Studies Division, students can now earn a bachelor of arts in theatre with an emphasis in music theatre. The new emphasis engages students in the theatre core with private voice lessons, music theatre workshops and dance classes in ballet, jazz, tap and modern dance styles. The theatre arts emphasis features internships, acting and directing opportunities and a generalist approach to theatre. This emphasis partners with the Fine Arts Division and adheres to NASM and NAST standards.
This program provides individual attention to students hoping to pursue a career in musical theatre.
The skills and abilities developed through a major in theatre serve as the building blocks for a wide range of occupations and career paths. It is important to realize that the activities represented by the job titles below may be found in business, government, educational institutions, non-profit agencies or arts-related businesses.
