Degrees:

B. A., Cornerstone University;  M. A. in Teaching, Calvin College

Career Path

I was an adjunct at CU for many years, then taught sixth grade at Potter's House Christian School for six years.  I was then able to return to CU to teach full time in the Teacher Education Department.

Academic History & Involvements:

I went from adjunct to full-time -so this is my first year as full-time, but since I attended this college and have taught here for so many years, it is a natural fit for me to be here full-time and I love it!

Courses Taught:

I teach Children's Literature, Adolescent Literture, Assessing and Correcting Reading Problems, and Assessing Beginning Literacy.

Personal Information:

My husband is a realtor and is very supportive of my teaching.  We have two children. Our son is married and has three children.  He has a Master's Degree in Social Work and is employed at Bethany Christian Services.  Our daughter is a nursing student at Western Michigan University.

Other Interests & Pursuits:

We are very involved in our church.  I was a missionary in Nigeria many years ago, so I love being involved on the Missions Commitee and doing what I can to care for our missionaries.  I always rejoice when students share an interest in missions.

Comments:

Making decisions about all the important areas of education can seem overwhelming, but you can trust God to lead you step by step!
