B. A., Eastern New Mexico University; Ph.D. in progress at Michigan State University
I became interested in teaching during 20 years as a newspaperman teaching young reporters the craft of reporting news and human interest stories.
After working as a reporter, photographer, editor and publisher at daily and weekly newspapers, it seemed natural to begin pursuing a Ph.D. in Mass Media and begin teaching journalism at CU.
Teaches Freshman Rhetoric, The Herald (newspaper), Feature Writing, Journalism, Editing
Married since 1977 to Helen; two sons: Josh and Jeremy
Favorite Bible verse: Philippians 4: 6-7
My family owns and operates a weekly newspaper, The Clare Sentinel, in Clare, Michigan. I also enjoy jogging, chess and working toward finishing my Ph.D.
I enjoy the small class sizes that allow professors to spend quality time teaching and getting to know students.
