Sensing God’s call in our lives and desiring to share the gospel message with Africans, Bonnie and I spent 14 years in Kenya. Our first assignment was with missionary children at Rift Valley Academy but the majority of our time was spent preparing students from several African nations to ministry in local churches through our teaching at Moffat College of Bible. God used a robbery and assault to redirect our path to teaching in Chrisitan higher education here in the states. After teaching at Biola and the International School of Theology, we moved to Grand Rapids to teach at Cornerstone. We are entering our second decade of ministry here.
I have been actively involved with the North American Professors of Christian Education and in spiritual direction with pastors and students.

I enjoy pleasure running to exercise and clear my mind, taking pictures on a digital camera to express my creativity, and reading books to challenge my intellect and stretch my world.
Missionary care and mentoring students who desire to minister cross-culturally are interests that I have. My wife and I have traveled to over 20 countries to visit missionaries and encourage them in their work. I enjoy helping students pursue their dreams of longer term missionary service particularly among the unreached and unevangelized.
The students, the staff, and the faculty are what make Cornerstone a great place to grow, learn, and develop in a relationship with Jesus Christ. I work at Cornerstone to worship God and to lead others in the worship of that same God. It is a wonderful place to do just that!
