Voice Auditions
All vocalists seeking entrance into the music program and/or scholarship monies must perform the following:
- One memorized classical selection in Latin, Italian, German, or French
- One memorized selection in English
- Sight-reading
B.A. MUSIC (WORSHIP ARTS) MAJORS
- All requirements state above, except classical selection can be in English
PERFORMANCE MAJORS
- All requirements stated above
- A third memorized classical selection in English, Latin, Italian, German, or French
PERFORMANCE (CONTEMPORARY CHRISTIAN MUSIC) MAJORS
- All requirements stated above, except classical selection can be in English
- A third selection in English in a contrasting tempo
- Two of the selections should be commercial; one may be from musical theater
Please note: All selections must be accompanied by piano or guitar.
RECORDED AUDITIONS
Students for whom performing an on-campus audition is prohibitive (for example international students) may request to submit their video auditions via the internet or on a high quality DVD (no audio recordings permitted). Please send your requests to: music@cornerstone.edu
AUDITION ACCOMPANISTS
No pre-recorded accompaniments will be accepted except where expressly stated above. Applicants requiring an accompanist are strongly encouraged to bring their own; however, a staff accompanist is available upon request. Applicants requesting a staff accompanist must include photocopies of their audition selections and a staff accompanist fee of $10.00 (personal checks only) with the audition application form. Applicants have an opportunity to rehearse with the staff accompanist prior to the audition.
