Woodwind Quintet
The Cornerstone University Woodwind Quintet is a touring ministry team of the university. Instrumentation consists of Flute, Oboe, Clarinet, French Horn, and Bassoon. Currently, the team tours to local and regional schools. Membership is determined by the Director of Symphonic Winds at the university. Each member of the quintet receives a scholarship.
From January 4, 2006 through January 14, 2006, the Cornerstone University Woodwind Quintet toured 13 different area high schools and middle schools presenting nearly a total of 30 concerts. Repertoire from the 2006 tour included: Dvorak's Humoreske and Slawischer Tanz, Farkas's Early Hungarian Dances, Frackenpohl's Suite for Woodwind Quintet, Haydn's Divertimento, Ibert's Trois Pieces, Milhaud's La Cheminee Du Roi Rene, Prokofiev's Peter and the Wolfe, Reicha's Quintet No. 2 in Eb Major, Op. 88, Strauss Jr.'s Perpetuum Mobile.
