M.A. Ministry Leadership

The Master of Arts in Ministry Leadership (MAML) is a degree for those in ministry leadership positions who want advanced biblical, theological and ministry education to promote personal, spiritual, and professional growth.

  • The program consists of 36 semester hours
  • The curriculum has been designed around a core of bible, theology and ministry courses with opportunities for specialization through elective courses.
  • The MAML degree is conferred through Cornerstone University and is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission. All courses are completed at Grand Rapids Theological Seminary.

Urban Cohort Program

The Master of Arts in Ministry Leadership urban cohort program is for those in urban ministry leadership positions who desire advanced biblical, theological, and ministry education. 

 

Flexible Course Offerings

  • Distance Education - More than 30 courses are offered via extension and online course format.  Ministry leadership students can complete up to 21 credits via distance education (15 credits are required to be completed in-residence)
  • Summer School - Two week intensive residential courses that are offered in four different sessions
  • January Term - Two week intensive residential courses available during the first two weeks of January
  • Traditional Residential Courses - Students can choose from day or evening in both fall and spring semesters.

Admissions Requirements

Applicants for the MAML degree program must have:

  • A bachelor's degree from an accredited undergraduate institution with a minimum 2.5 cumulative GPA.
  • At least 4 years of full-time vocational ministry experience (or the equivalent time if part-time).
