Welcome to the Teacher Education Division! Our purpose is to prepare our students to serve as teachers in public or private schools as we develop within our students the knowledge, skills and Christian character to think critically, to work toward making positive changes in themselves and their society, to enable them to function as servant leaders in their school and community and to bring glory to God.
Our programs are built on the foundations provided by the general Cornerstone core and the specified subject area majors and minors. Education students must meet all requirements for graduation, including the appropriate major and minors for subject area endorsements, and the professional education program for elementary or secondary level.
Successful candidates may be recommended to the Michigan Board of Education for certification when all program and certification requirements are met. Graduates are eligible to teach in public and Christian schools and may be provided career counseling and job placement assistance by Career Services.
In addition, education students have the option to extend their directed teaching practicum as a cross-cultural experience in selected schools around the world through a program known as the Christian College Teacher Education Coordinating Council.

The Teacher Education Division is approved by the Michigan Department of Education and the Association of Christian Schools International. All programs are in good standing.
