Your Story

My life was shaped by wonderful professors at CU who excelled in their fields and at the same time took a personal interest in me (Luke 6:40).  I am grateful for the influence of men like Peter Atwood, Ray Gates, Ron Meyers and so many others!

From the bench in soccer, I had a pretty good view most games of the cheerleaders. :-)  The most important decision I made while at CU was asking Bonnie McCauley to be my wife.  We were married 30 years ago (May 30, 1981).  God has blessed us with four wonderful children and a full and satisfying life spent thus far serving the Lord together.

Following graduation, Bonnie and I returned to my alma matter, Elkhart Christian Academy, where we served together for 14 wonderful years. From there we moved to Heritage Christian School where I served as
Superintendent for nearly 10 years.  From there to Indiana Wesleyan University where I served for 3 years as VP for University Relations. In July, I will complete three years as President of ACSI, the largest protestant Christian school organization in the world serving over 23,000 schools representing over 5.5 million students in 104 countries around the world.  Bonnie travels with me as the "special assistant" to the President.  Dr Stowell provided the forward to my new book, Worth It!  The Case for Christian School Education, which will be coming out this fall.  It is a joy serving the Lord!
