Golf Records Fall in 2009

The men's golf team finished second in the closely contested WHAC race this season. The Golden Eagles won or tied for first in 5 out of 7 Jamborees and with that success a number of Cornerstone team and individual records fell. Chet Vandenberg (Kalamazoo Christian) recorded a low totalof 220 in 54 holesat Eagle Creek Golf Club breaking Dave Damesworth's record of 221 set in 2003 at Coldwater Country Club. Golden Eagles Finish Second in WHAC Race by One Stroke

The Golden Eagles finished an exciting fall season by winning their 5th WHAC Jamboree of the season with a team score of 308, three strokes ahead of 2nd place Davenport (311) and 9 stokes ahead of third place Madonna (317). Heading into the final WHAC match of the season Cornerstone was 10 strokes behind Madonna. CU gained 9 stokes on the windy day but found themselves one stroke shy of tying for the WHAC championship. Cornerstone Loses Ground in WHAC Race

The men's golf team finished 4th in the second to last Jamboree of the season slightly losing ground in the race for the WHAC championship. Madonna gained six stokes today and moved to a 10 stroke lead over Cornerstone as they move to the final Jamboree of the season hosted by CU at Quail Ridge on October 19th.
