Golden Eagles Strike Early and Often

The Golden Eagles traveled to Marygrove College in Southfield Michigan for a non-conference game and came away with an 8-1 win. Jordan Wilson scored CU's first goal in the 39:29 minute mark. Jake Stanko (38:00), Matt Kunnen (37:17) and Ian Grotenhuis (28:54) closed out the first half with goals to take a 4-0 lead into half-time. Nic Tolsma (28:18), Brian Nimmo (23:05) and Isaac Grotenhuis (18:55) scored three more goals before the Marygrove Mustangs got on the board with 15 minutes left to play. Alan Doornbos scored CU's final goal in the 13th minute win the game 8-1. Cornerstone improves to 5-5 overall while Marygrove falls to 1-6. Goalie Kyle Breckan gets the win playing 90 minutes. CU travels to league rival Aquinas on Saturday, October 3rd for a 3pm kick-off.
