CU and Tech Finish in Tie

Oct 24, 2009

Due to poor field conditions the men's soccer game vs. Indiana Tech had to be moved to a neutral field and played at Aquinas College.  Both teams played to a 0-0 tie at half-time with both goalies credited with one save each.  The Warriors struck first and netted two goals in the 57th and 66th minute to take a 2-0 lead.  The Golden Eagles battled back and Zac Tolsma scored in the 67th minute on a keeper error who cleared ball to Zac and passed it in.  Jacob Stanko tied the game in the 87th minute.  Carlos Marinho headed a throw in to Stanko who chiped it in.  Neither team could break the tie and the end result was a 2-2 tie.  Both teams have very similar records with Tech improving to 6-3-1 in the WHAC and CU improving to 6-3-2.  Cornerstone will host Marygrove College on Saturday, October 31st at 2:30pm before finishing the conference season hosting Aquinas on Nov. 4th.
