CHAMPIONS OF CHARACTER ALL-STAR BASKETBALL GAMES

Grand Rapids, MI.   Steve Project, Pete Rusticus and The VanderWeide Family Foundation announce the 2009 all-star games for their NAIA Champions of Character "Who Says You Can't Come Home" series.  Top senior college b-ballers from the Greater Grand Rapids area and local colleges will compete in a unique all-star format with Division I, II, III and NAIA players competing against returning pros. (A unique Pro-Am format!)
 
The College All-Star games will be on Wednesday, June 17th at Cornerstone' Mol Arena... free parking and air conditioning. The 2nd Annual College All-Star game times include Women's game at 5:30pm; Men's game at 7:30pm. 
 
The 3rd Annual High School All-Star games will feature the top senior boys and girls, who were nominated by organizers, local high school and college coaches, and our media panel. These games will also be at Cornerstone on Thursday, June 18th with the Girls' game tipping off at5:30pm;  Boys game at 7:30pm.
 
Tickets will be only $5.00 at the door. The goal is to raise $5000-$7500 in support on the "Champions of Character Lecturing Initiative", in which every player, coach, referee, parent, and spectator wll commit back to the true spirit (fun) of competition through respect, integrity, responsibility, leadership, and sportsmanship. (We have a major problem in W. Michigan with coaches and parents that must be addressed.)   Rosters will be released in early June.  Major Corporate Sponsors are The Vanderweide Family Foundation, MVP Sports, Meijer, and Monster Energy Drink.
