JOHNSON CITY, TN (3/5) On the final day of competition at the 2010 NAIA Indoor Track & Field National Championships, the Cornerstone men’s team made a final push for a top ten finish.
Zach Ripley and Alex Green waited all day to run the 5,000 meter final. As the race got underway, the field of twelve stayed bunched together, the pace hovering around 73 seconds per 400 meters. Just before the mile mark, the pace dropped to 68 seconds per 400, stringing out the pack.

In the first event of the afternoon, Kris Shear got out quickly in the opening lap of the 3,000 meter race walk. After the first 800 meter he and two others were well clear of the field and Shear settled into third place, building up a ten second gap on a pack of four behind him.
