Bob Becker, recently inducted into Grand Rapids Sports Hall of Fame, spent 29 years as sports editor of The Grand Rapids Press before retiring in August. He is now adjunct professor of journalism and assistant softball coach at Cornerstone. For more than two decades he competed nationally in softball, pitching in multiple national and world championship events. He is on the board of the West Michigan Sports Commission, the Michigan Sports Hall of Fame, the Veterans’ Committee of the Michigan Sports Hall of Fame and the Fallen Heroes Golf Foundation, and is a member of the Kent County Veterans’ Honor Guard.
