Since the year 2000, CU softball has made seven consecutive trips to the NAIA Region VIII Tournament, has played in 6 of those Regional Final games, and has advanced to the NAIA National Tournament three times. There is no doubt that Cornerstone Softball is here to play. We have proven that we can play with the best. But there is always room to improve. And that is what we hope to do this year…to take our game to the next level. “We truly believe with hard work and God’s blessing that even greater things lie ahead for this program.” – Jim Farrell

Coach Farrell comes into this season, his 14th with the Cornerstone University Women’s Softball Program, as head coach. Farrell has served the program as an assistant coach for 8 years and as co-head coach with Kim Zainea for two years.
The National Fastpitch Coaches Association has recently recognized Farrell as a “4 Star Master Coach”. He is one of few members of the first graduating class from the National Fastpitch Coaches College. He is a graduate of Cornerstone University with a B.A. in Physical Education. Currently, he lives in Grand Rapids with his lovely wife Shari, and their three sons David, John, and Ben.
