Cornerstone Twelfth at Great Lakes Invitational

(Grand Rapids, MI) On a soggy cool day at Riverside Park, the Cornerstone Women’s Cross Country team placed twelfth out of twenty teams at the NAIA Great Lakes Challenge hosted by Aquinas College. Janelle Brown, Tracy Dykstra and Janey Sluka raced well together with all three achieving personal best times. Brown finished 83rd in 20:25, Dykstra 86th in 20:32, and Sluka 89th in 20:42. Owens Breaks Course Record

HOLLAND, (MI) After missing almost all of the 2006 Cross Country season with injury, Andi Owens started her junior year healthy and fit, winning the Vanderbilt Invitational. Owens finished second in this meet her freshman year behind teammate Kendra Ross. Not only did she improve one spot, she chopped thirteen seconds off the course record in the process, clocking 19:24 for the 5,000 meter event.
