A Successful Season Comes to an End

Cornerstone Women's Soccer finished the season with a record of 14-5-2 after their loss to Indiana Wesleyan in the NAIA Region VIII Semifinals.  Despite injuries to key players, Cornerstone played hard and fought their way to a 0-0 tie at the half.  Indiana Wesleyan scored their first goal on a bit of a fluke.  Mindy Erny made a great save that hit the crossbar and was cleared wide of the goal but the cross that was hit back in drifted over Erny's head into the corner of the goal.  Indiana …

Senior Forward Melissa Strohmaier was named WHAC Player of the Week for the second time this season.  Strohmaier scored two goals and had one assist in a 6-0 win vs. Concordia and added two goals in the Golden Eagles 6-1 win over Indiana Tech.  Melissa also passed Jessica Berryman (98-00) to become the second leading scorer in the history of the program with 43 total goals at Cornerstone.
