Randy Strawser (Head Coach)    randy_strawser@cornerstone.edu

 


Randy is in his eighth year as the Head Coach for the women’s soccer program at Cornerstone University. Coach Strawser came to Cornerstone from Westmont College where he served as an Instructor of Kinesiology and Assistant Soccer Coach for the men’s program from 1992 to 2000. Randy was Head Men’s Soccer Coach at Mount Olive College in North Carolina from 1986-92.

Strawser is a 1984 graduate of Coker College in South Carolina where he earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Physical Education. He earned his M.A. in Health and Physical Education from Appalachian State University in North Carolina in 1986. Strawser holds the Advanced National Diploma from the National Soccer Coaches Association of America and the “B License” from the United States Soccer Federation.  Strawser was named WHAC Coach of the Year in 2003 and 2006 and Region VIII Coach of the Year in 2007.  Coach Strawser has led the Golden Eagles into the NAIA Regionals for the last four years.   He led the Golden Eagles to the NAIA Region VIII Championship and to the first NAIA National Championship in 2007.


Randy is married to Dianne Strawser and has two sons (CJ & Mitchel) and a daughter (Elisha) . Randy and Dianne reside in Cascade.


Dan McAllister (Assistant Coach)

 

Dan is in his fifth year as an Asst. Coach for Cornerstone. Coach McAllister has been involved with soccer in the Grand Rapids Area at all levels. He has coached youth teams, H.S. teams, and college teams in the area. He has been a staff ODP coach for Michigan since 1996. He is currently the Head Coach for the West Michigan Fire Juniors U-17 and U-15 teams. He brings a wealth of experience and knowledge to the program. He holds a USSF “National C” license (#7152) and a USSF “National Youth” license (#375), and a National Youth – State Instructors Certification.


He coached at Cornerstone in 2002 and 2003. He took the 2004 season off but returned to coach in 2005. He has also coached the West Michigan Fire Juniors club team for the past few years.


Dan is married to Renee McAllister and they reside in Grand Haven, Michigan . They have four daughters (Danielle, Charise, Christina, and Chelsea.

 

   

 

Cam Groen (Goalkeeper Coach)


 

Cameron is in his second season as Goalkeeper Coach. Cam grew up in Prinsburg, MN. Groen graduated with a B.S. degree in Business Administration from Calvin College in 1999. He played Goal Keeper on the Varsity Soccer Team during his time at Calvin. Cam has been working in the Information Technology Department at Family Christian Bookstores Headquarters since 1999. Cam leads a Bible Study for 18-30 year olds and is a small group leader for a senior high youth group at Ada Bible Church. Groen is single and resides in Grand Rapids.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Dianne Strawser (Assistant Coach)

 


 

Dianne is currently in her eighth season as the Assistant Coach for the Women’s program at Cornerstone. Dianne served as an Assistant Coach for the women’s program at Westmont College from 1997 to 1999. Westmont advanced to the National Championship Tournament in each of her three seasons as Assistant Coach. Westmont won the NAIA National Championship in 1999. Dianne served as the Head Women’s Soccer Coach at Santa Barbara City College from 1993 – 96.

Dianne graduated from UC-Santa Barbara in 1991 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Sociology. She is the 2nd leading scorer all time for UCSB Women’s Soccer. UCSB was a top 10 Division 1 program during her years as a player. Dianne is an excellent technical and fitness trainer and brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the program.

Dianne also works at East Hills Athletics Club as a Personal Fitness Trainer.

Dianne is married to Randy Strawser and has two sons (CJ & Mitchel) and a daughter (Elisha) . Randy and Dianne reside in Cascade.
