The women's 4 x 400m relay team finished the 4th at the NAIA outdoor national championship. The team of Julie Brusie, Solena Helm, Amy VanderSloot and Stephanie Allers finished with a time of 3:49.37. Oklahoma Baptist won the race with a time of 3:39.96. Allers went out in style as a senior earning All-American honors in 3 of the 4 events (100 Meter Hurdles, 200 Meter Run, and 4 x 400 Meter Relay) that she qualified for at the 2007 NAIA Outdoor Track & Field Championships.
Stephanie Allers followed up her third place finish in the 100 Hurdles and capped off a stellar career with the 200 Meter Dash title. Allers ran a 24.80 time in the 95 degree heat and defeated Dominique McDonaldof Langston University by .24 seconds. The win gives the Golden Eagles an additional 10 pointsmoves the team into 20th place along with Langston University.Allers (CU's FemaleAthlete of the Year) and Derek Scott (CU's Male Athlete of the Year) both won individual titles today. Ypsilanti, MI ) The combination of great competition and warm, sunny weather brought out the best in the Cornerstone University Women’s Track & Field athletes. By the end of the meet the put up nine personal bests and six national qualifying performances and finished fifth behind the University of Michigan, Michigan State, Notre Dame and Eastern Michigan in the eleven team field.
