Coach Ryan Campbell enters his fourth season coaching for Cornerstone University. This will be Campbell’s first season as the interim head coach. For three years, he was an assistant coach at Cornerstone.Recently, Campbell received the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) “Thirty Under 30 Award,” a national honor given to thirty up-and-coming volleyball coaches.

Junior Holly Cousins was named to the American Volleyball Coaches Association Mideast All-Region Team. Cousins finished the season ranked 2nd in the nationwith 4.66Kills per Game. Cousins had 765 Kills on the season.
The Cornerstone volleyball team advanced to the WHAC Final Four with a 3-1 win over the number five seeded Davenport Panthers. The teams split with each other in conference play which included a five game thriller one week ago at the DU student center. Cornerstone held home serve with a 25-17, 25-21, 22-25 and 25-19 win to improve to 23-20 overall and will travel to Indiana Tech on Friday to play the #1 seeded Warriors. Holly Cousins was named WHAC Player of the week for the final week of WHAC play. The junior from Ada, Mich. averaged 6.1 kills and 2.4 digs per game as Cornerstone lost in five games to Davenport and defeated University of Michigan-Dearborn 3-1. Cousins leads the WHAC in kills pergame with 4.61. Cornerstone will host Davenport on Tuesday at 5 p.m. in WHAC Quaterfinal action.
The volleyball team traveled to Calumet College in Hammond, Ind. and finished 3-1 over the weekend to improve to 21-17 overall. CU won the first match 3-1 (25-16, 18-25, 25-17, 25-22) over Hannibal Lagrange. Holly Cousins finished with 18 kills and 3 blocks. In the second match CU lost an evenly match contest 3-0 to Viterbo (31-33, 24-26, 23-25). Alexis Deimling finished with a team high 12 digs, Cousins led the team with 23 kills. Marcie Blacquiere became the first Golden Eagle to be named WHAC Player of the week for her efforts in a 3-1 win over Davenport. Blacquiere posted a double in assists 44 (11.0/per game) and 17 digs (4.25/per match) as well as one ace.
After winning both matches on Friday at the Golden Eagle Invitational, CU won their first match on Saturday versus Daemen 3-1 (24-26, 25-25, 25-21, 25-16). Holly Cousins finished with 26 kills on 66 attempts for a .333 hitting percentage. Alicia TerHaar added 15 killsand a team high 24 digs. The final match of the day pitted CU against the Bethel Pilots of Indiana. CU took the first and third games 25, 17, 25-22 but the Pilots won the second 25-19 and the fourth 25-15 to force the fifth and deciding game. …
The volleyball team broke a 4 match losing streak by defeating Trinity Christian 3-0(25-18, 25-16, 25-22) and then rallied from a two game deficit to defeat Illinois Tech in five (16-25, 23-25, 25-17, 25-13, 15-3). The five game win was the second out of six matches for CU to win. Holly Cousins led balanced attack with 16 kills on 33 attempts while Alicia TerHaar finished with 13 kills and 5 blocks.
