The Center for Excellence in Learning and Teaching
The Center for Excellence in Learning and Teaching (CELT) was formed in 2005. Ten faculty members worked to develop the mission and direction of CELT. The mission statement is:
The primary purpose of the Center for Excellence in Learning and Teaching at Cornerstone University is to promote and encourage excellence in teaching, learning, research, publication, and other scholarly pursuits though a variety of academic activities.
Faculty member Tamara Rosier became the first director of CELT, working with the ten-member CELT Team. In 2009, Laurie Burgess became the director of CELT.
Typical activities of CELT include planning and implementing faculty work days, workshops, and seminars; creating opportunities to encourage publication and scholarship, working as mentors to individual faculty members, and developing activities to build faculty community.
