Crisis

A counselor is on call 24/7 throughout the school year to help with mental health emergencies.

• For life-threatening emergencies, call 911.

  • After calling 911, contact Campus Safety (see below) and Community Life for additional assistance and help directing emergency responders to you.
  • If you are a parent or a friend calling from outside the Grand Rapids area, you may call CU Campus Safety at 616-949-5300. They will call the local 911 and respond to the emergency.
• Contact your Resident Assistant, the Resident Assistant on duty in your hall, or your Resident Director.
• If you can't locate a Community Life staff member or you live off campus, call the University Switchboard/Campus Safety ("0" from on-campus or 616-949-5300 from off-campus).
