FAQ

Why do students come to counseling?
Students seek counseling to address a wide variety of issues including:

  • abuse
  • relationship conflicts
  • grief/loss
  • eating disorders
  • anger
  • adjusting to college
  • depression
  • alcohol & other drug use
  • stress
  • sexuality/purity
  • self esteem
  • family problems
  • spirituality
  • suicidal thoughts

What is the cost?
Our services are free to Cornerstone’s traditional undergraduate students for up to 10 sessions. If more than 10 sessions are needed we will determine if it’s most appropriate to continue to work with you based on a sliding scale of $0-$20 per session or refer you to a community service provider.

Who seeks help?
Students just like you! Last year over 150 Cornerstone students came in for at least one counseling appointment. It doesn’t have to be a “big” problem. If you’re looking at this site, chances are making an appointment will provide some of the help you want.
