Financial Aid Process for Current Students

  1. Complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) as soon as possible after January 1. You may either complete a paper FAFSA or apply over the internet at www.fafsa.ed.gov. Be sure to list Cornerstone University (Federal School Code: 002266) first in Step 6 to assure that Cornerstone University receives the results from filing the FAFSA. You will receive notification from Cornerstone University of any additional information required to complete the FAFSA filing process.
  2. The Institutional Financial Aid Application provides you with an opportunity to communicate any special or unusual circumstances that may affect your eligibility for additional financial aid. Submit a 2009-2010 Cornerstone University IFAA directly to the Cornerstone University Student Financial Services office.
  3. Complete Institutional Scholarship Applications by February 1, 2010.  Scholarship Applications must be received by this date, not just postmarked, in order to be considered for the next year.
  4. After all required information has been received, you will receive a financial aid award notification.
  5. Apply for Federal Loans if needed.
  6. Search for alternative financial aid possibilities including loans and other scholarships. If you receive additional loans or scholarships, we will add them to your financial aid package when we have been notified of the additional aid. If you have MEAP/Promise Scholarship eligibility from the state of Michigan, certify with the state that you are attending Cornerstone University and they will add you to our roster which we receive monthly.  Their phone number is 1-888-447-2687.
