What is Dial-up?

Cornerstone University has established 16 modem lines for off-campus students to dial into to gain an Internet connection and connection to the Cornerstone Network. This service is ONLY for students that have a laptop issued by Cornerstone University.
How do I use Dial-up?

Click on the Start button, and Cornerstone Dial-up. For username and password, enter the same credentials you use to log in to your laptop.
I live on campus. Can I use Cornerstone's Dial-up?

Yes, but not while on campus. This resource is devoted to students not on campus, including residential students visiting home for the weekend or during breaks. There are network ports located in residence hall rooms and in common areas devoted to the network needs of students while on campus.
What is VPN?

VPN stands for Virtual Private Networking.
A VPN connection is established through a working internet connection from off-campus and gives you access to the Cornerstone University network resources as if you were on campus.
Why would I want to use VPN?

You would only want to use VPN to gain access to Cornerstone University network resources that are not available over the Internet. These resources include network share drives (H: drive) and printers.
NOTE: If you are using Cornerstone's dial-up, you already have access to theses resources and don't need to use VPN.
How do I use VPN?

If you are using Cornerstone's dial-up, you don't need to use VPN, because you already have access to the resources VPN gives access to.
