Setting up Microsoft Outlook Client

Setting up Outlook 2003
- Launch Microsoft Outlook
- Click the Start button; go to Programs, then Microsoft Office, and choose Microsoft Office Outlook 2003.
- You should see a dialog box entitled Outlook 2003 Startup; click Next. (If you don’t see this dialog box, go to step #3.)
- You’ll see a dialog box entitled Account Configuration; click Next>.
- In the first dialog box entitled E-mail Accounts, under Server Type, select Microsoft Exchange Server, click Next.
- In the second dialog box entitled E-mail Accounts:
- For Server, enter paul.cornerstone.edu.
- For User Name, enter your network user name (made up of your first initial in lower case, followed by a zero and the last 6 digits of your ID number)
- You’ll get a dialog box with a "congratulations!" message; click Finish.
- If you don’t see the Outlook 2003 Startup dialog box when you launch Outlook:
- Click the Start button; go to Settings, then Control Panel; choose Mail.
- Choose E-mail Accounts
- Choose Add a New E-mail Account; click Next.
- Continue with setup from step 2b (above).
Setting up Outlook 2007
- Launch Microsoft Outlook
- Click the Start button; go to Programs, then and choose Microsoft Office,Microsoft Office Outlook 2007
- You should see a dialog box entitled Outlook 2007 Startup; click Next (If you don't see this dialog box, go to step #3.)
- You will see a dialog box asking if you would like to configure an email account. Select Yes and Click Next.
- In the next dialog box entitled Add New E-mail Account, the fields should automatically populate if you are on campus. If not follow the directions below, otherwise click Next.
- Check the Manually Configure Server Settings or Additional Server Types box and then click Next
- When prompted to choose a e-mail service, choose Microsoft Exchange from the list and then click Next
- On the next form, fill in the following information and then click Next after the information has all been entered.
- For the Microsoft Exchange Server, enter: paul.cornerstone.edu
- For User Name, enter your network user name (made up of your first initial in lower case, followed by a zero and the last 6 digits of your ID number)
- You should arrive at a screen informing you that you have sucessfully entered all of the required information and to press Finish. Press the Finish button and your account should load.
- If you don't see the Outlook 2007 Startup dialog box when you launch Outlook:
- Click the Start button; go to Settings, then Control Panel; choose Mail.
- Choose E-mail Accounts.
- Choose Add a New E-mail Account; click Next.
- Continue with setup from step 2a (above)
Using Microsoft Outlook Client
- Launch Microsoft Outlook.
- You’ll see a dialog box requesting your User name and Password.
- In the User name field, type disciplenet followed by your user name (see above). Make sure to include the backslash (\) character between disciplenet and your user name.
- In the Password field, enter your network login password.
- Click OK.
- The next dialog box will ask if you want to make Outlook your default program for e-mail – click Yes.
- To see your mail, click your Inbox. This shows all current e-mail with the subject and date in the center panel, and a preview of the text in the right panel.
- You’ll have a new e-mail in your Inbox from the Outlook 2003 team – don’t discard it! This message will help you learn how to use Outlook.
- To send a new message, click the New button. (Or click the arrow beside the button and choose Mail Message, or press Ctrl-N.)
- Write your e-mail and press Send to send it on its way.
