The Foundations of Faith Award is Cornerstone University’s highest honor for achievement and outstanding service in Christian ministry. The Award is given annually to individuals in vocational ministry whose life evidences an authentic commitment to Jesus Christ and the principles of biblical Christianity and whose work and accomplishments model the statement of James 2:22, “You see that his faith and his actions were working together, and his faith was made complete by what he did.”
Foundations of Faith Award recipients demonstrate a “lived out faith.” They own clear public testimonies of God’s sovereignty and grace, testimonies that are freely and frequently given. Awardees “speak the truth in love’ to a world culture that rejects truth and therefore does not understand love. Foundations of Faith Award recipients are known for their spiritual maturity, courage in the face of spiritual and sometimes physical adversity, and an unshakable commitment to their God-given calling. Their work is the work of a faithful, humble servant who labors as unto the Lord without thought of reward or recognition. While the achievements of Foundations of Faith Award honorees are often world changing, honorees know that this far-reaching impact is based upon spiritual changes in the life of one person at a time.
The Foundations of Faith Award symbolized Cornerstone University’s mission, biblical doctrinal understanding, and ideals and aspirations. It speaks of the certainty and permanency of faith founded upon the life and finished work of Jesus Christ, the Chief Cornerstone of the Christian faith. Those who receive this award are among His most blessed chosen servants.
