Soulforce, Inc. is a religious gay, lesbian, bisexual, transvestite advocacy group, seeking to oppose what it considers religious and political discrimination and oppression by employing the non-violent, peaceful, "relentless," resistance techniques of Gandhi and Martin Luther King, Jr.

In 2006, Soulforce visited 19 Christian colleges and universities in what the organization dubbed the “Soulforce Equality Ride”. Soulforce sent to these schools 33 college age people who: a) said they were Christians or at least people of faith, and b) presented themselves as gay, lesbian, etc. individuals.

In October, 2006, Dr. Rex M. Rogers, president of Cornerstone University, received a letter from Soulforce, Inc. indicating the organization may wish to visit CU as part of a Spring 2007 plan to send 25 young adults in two separate groups to some 40 colleges and universities.

While Cornerstone University will not criticize other schools that chose or choose to host the Soulforce Equality Ride, we do not believe this is a wise choice for CU. On December 18, 2006, Dr. Rogers responded with a letter to Soulforce, Inc. and declined this organization the opportunity to visit Cornerstone University.

In January, 2007, Dr. Rogers received a letter from Soulforce, Inc. indicating that they will be visiting Cornerstone University's campus on Monday, April 23, 2007.

In April, 2007, Dr. Rogers sent a letter to Soulforce, Inc. restating Cornerstone University's position regarding a potential campus visit by Soulforce.
