Biographical Information
Timothy Gombis graduated from Liberty University with a B.S. in Political Studies and Theology. He went on to receive his M.Div. and Th.M. from the Master’s Seminary in Sun Valley, California. In 2005, Gombis earned his Ph.D. from the University of St. Andrews in St. Andrews, Scotland. At Cornerstone University, Dr. Gombis serves as Associate Professor of New Testament. He is a member of the Evangelical Theological Society, the Society of Biblical Literature, Tyndale Fellowship and the Institute for Biblical Research. Gombis has two recently published books, The Drama of Ephesians: Participating in the Triumph of God (Downers Grove, IL: IVP Academic, 2010) and Paul: A Guide for the Perplexed (New York: T&T Clark, 2010). He has dozens of published articles, presentations, and book reviews.
Gombis’ research interests include Pauline theology and encounters between biblical theology and contemporary culture and politics. In his spare time, he enjoys golf, baseball and ancient Greek and Roman history.
