Where were you born?
I was born in Louisville, Kentucky. I moved to Michigan when I was around two years old and this has been my home ever since.
Why did you choose to attend CU?
Simply put, Cornerstone was different from all of the other colleges and universities I visited. What I was looking for in a college was a small student-faculty ratio because it was important to me to interact with my professors and be more than just a number. I was also looking for a college where I would have a lot of opportunity to be involved on campus. CU excelled in both of these areas and after visiting the campus, Cornerstone felt like home.
What do you like to do for fun?
I enjoy spending time with my beautiful wife Karissah, playing sports, being outdoors and enjoying God’s creation, traveling, eating a wide variety of good food, playing board games and video games, reading and hanging out with friends.
What do you appreciate most about CU?
I really appreciate the community here at CU. Cornerstone is very unique in that it is an environment made up of students, faculty and staff that are followers of Christ. The relationships I have made here are not just surface level; they are deeper because they are bound in Christ and they will certainly last a lifetime.
What’s your favorite hang-out spot in GR?
Grand Rapids has a lot to offer! I enjoy going downtown, apple orchards, The Grand Rapids Symphony, Noodles and Co., Celebration Cinema and Biggby Coffee to name a few. But my favorite is traveling to the lakeshore and enjoying Michigan’s great beaches.
Why did you choose to work in admissions?
I chose to join Admissions because I believe wholeheartedly in Cornerstone University. As a former CU student, I would not have changed my experience here for anything. The growth I have experienced in my faith, the relationships I made, and the knowledge I have gained were priceless. It is a great privilege for me to share Cornerstone University with students.
