Where were you born?
I was born in Ludington, Michigan, which is on the lakeshore about an hour and a half north of Cornerstone University. I grew up in Mears Michigan where the Silver Lake Sand Dunes are located.
What do you like to do for fun?
My hobbies are golfing, fishing, and reading. I normally enjoy going out on Lake Michigan fishing for salmon. It is relaxing being on the water and not thinking about anything else. I love to read theology books. My favorite author is N.T Wright. He is a great scholar and is commited to understanding Jesus in the way that his first century listeners did.
Why did you choose to attend CU?
I chose Cornerstone University so that I could take Bible classes while pursuing a degree in something else. I felt that it was very important to learn about my major through a Christian perspective. Being able to take some Bible classes while pursuing a degree in Psychology helped me to integrate my faith and education.
What do you appreciate most about CU?
My favorite part about CU is the caring community that is around. When you come to Cornerstone you automatically realize that this is a special place. The people are warm and friendly. There is a bond that you have immediately with people that you meet because the bond we all share with Jesus.
Who was one of your favorite CU professors?
My favorite professor was Dr. Ehnis because he taught in a way that was conversational, always made himself available, and allowed the students to participate in teaching. He was always willing to meet with students after class or any other time they needed to talk. He also has a great sense of humor which made the class fun. He is one of those professors that students take his classes just because he is teaching them.
Why did you choose to work in admissions?
I choose to work as an admissions couselor because it is an awesome opportunity to build into the lives of students and a great opportunity to work for a wonderful organization. Cornerstone has by far been the most friendly and inviting work place that I have experienced.
