Where were you born?
I was born in Columbus, OH and moved to Saint Joseph, MI when I was six years old.
Why did you choose to attend CU?
One of the guys I worked with in high school went to Cornerstone and invited me to come and spend the night. I came and after I experienced the late night trip to Meijer, video games, pranks, and awesome community, I was hooked! In addition, the laptop program was also influential and a great opportunity.
Who was your favorite professor and why?
I’m going to break the rules because I had two. Dr. Stamm (Economics professor) and Dr. Young (Management professor) were my favorites. Dr. Stamm made me think very differently about economics through a Christian perspective and how we should be stewards in this world. Dr. Young gave us no fluff in class. He simply taught us what we needed to know and asked many thought provoking questions about what type of career we truly wanted.
What are your hobbies?
- Being with my wife
- Working out
- Movies
- Playing guitar
- Learning anything new
What’s your favorite hang-out spot in GR?
Kava House, the Symphony, Celebration Cinema, and Panera Bread are all classic picks .
What’s your favorite type of music?
Pretty much anything besides rap and country. I love acoustic guitar, jazz, alternative, and rock the most.
What’s your favorite part about CU?
The community. I met so many amazing people during my four years on campus as an undergrad, and now I have the privilege of working with some of them professionally.
Why did you choose to work in admissions?
My life changed immensely when I was a student at Cornerstone. The university gave me so many opportunities to grow spiritually, academically, and socially. Working in admission is my chance to give back to the institution that gave so substantially to me.
What one piece of advice would you give to a new student?
Connect with as many people as possible as a new student. Not just other new students, but the staff, faculty, and upperclassmen. There are so many different people on campus with different backgrounds and stories. Branch out and get to know them!
