Where were you born?
I was born in Seoul, South Korea but grew up in Holland, MI.
Why did you choose to attend CU?
I chose CU for the positive, inviting community. I loved how the campus was so friendly and the atmosphere was Christ-centered.
Who was your favorite professor and why?
I had many amazing professors while attending CU, but my favorite was Professor Andy Smith. He takes a personal interest in each student’s life, is such a strong encourager and has a great sense of humor!
What are your hobbies?
-enjoying friends and family
-making cards and care packages to encourage others
-running
-baking and cooking (and eating the finished product!)
-writing and reading
-traveling to new places
What’s your favorite hang-out spot in GR?
I love being at the restaurant Marie Catrib’s in east GR. It’s a wind-powered restaurant with a garden on the rooftop and all the food is from local farmers. Also, the staff is so laid back and friendly, there are fresh flowers on the tables, and the food is hands down some of the best, most unique food ever!
What’s your favorite type of music?
There are two bands that I listen to all the time: Eisley (three sisters, their brother, and cousin) and Zach Vinson (some of the best music I have ever heard.) I love music that shows a part of the artist’s heart and life, music that is creative, catchy, and talented.
What’s your favorite part about CU?
My favorite part about CU is the people that make up CU: the students, faculty, and staff. Some of my best friends in life come from this school, along with cherished mentors and role models.
Why did you choose to work in admissions?
One of my greatest passions is working with high school and college-aged students. I love hearing their stories and being a part of their lives! I also greatly appreciate the staff here and couldn’t imagine a more encouraging and wonderful group of people.
What one piece of advice would you give to a new student?
Enjoy every moment of your college experience; it goes quick, so embrace every challenge, live deeply, and let yourself grow into the best version of yourself through the years.
