Senior Timeline
Summer - September
• Narrow your list of colleges to the five in which you are most interested.
• Check out the Cornerstone University Web site:
www.cornerstone.edu.
• Begin to complete applications and check for application deadlines.
• Check out
www.nacacnet.org for local college fairs.
• Check
www.naccap.org for National Christian College Fair schedule.
• Visit your top schools.
• Take the ACT or SAT.
October - November
• Complete your application!
• Visit Cornerstone. (Fridays are the best days to visit Cornerstone. You can go to chapel, visit class, take a tour, meet with professors and even stay in the residence halls.)
• Take or re-take the ACT or SAT. (Your scores will be sent directly to Cornerstone when you put our code 2002 on your registration!)
• Let Cornerstone know your ACT or SAT score and GPA, and we will estimate your scholarship eligibility.
• Investigate scholarship opportunities. (The Cornerstone Leadership Scholarship process begins in December!)
December - January
• Obtain the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).

• Interested in music or athletics? Contact the appropriate department to arrange auditions or try-outs. CU music department: (616) 222-1545 CU athletics department: (616) 222-1425
February
• Confirm your acceptance. You may not receive your financial aid award letter until the admissions process is complete.
• Cornerstone’s Leadership Scholarship Application is due this month!
• Continue to narrow your college choices. Wait until you receive your financial aid award letter to make your final decision.
• The early deadline for FAFSA is this month.
• Submit your housing and tuition deposits ($150 each at Cornerstone) and forms. (CU’s tuition deposit is refundable until May 1 and housing deposit is refundable until July 1.)
March - April
• Make your final decision and notify your admissions counselor.
• Respond to communication from the financial aid office - this may save you time in the financial aid process!
• Investigate your school’s new student orientation and registration schedule.
• Attend Orientation. (Cornerstone’s Family Orientation Days occur in March and April.)
• Register for fall semester classes.
May - June
• Return your financial aid award letter and accept the financial aid for which you are eligible.
• Begin applying for alternative loans if necessary.
• Request your final high school transcripts be sent to your college choice after you graduate.
• Be sure you’ve submitted all necessary deposits/ forms.
July
• Sign and return Federal Stafford Loan promissory note if you are receiving a Stafford Loan.
• Complete and return payment plan work sheet to the business office.
• Submit all health forms and necessary paper work.
August
• Make tuition payment.
• Be aware of how you will purchase textbooks and what supplies you’ll need to bring to college.
• Your roommate’s name and your residence hall assignment will arrive in the mail.
• Call your roommate and begin to get acquainted.
• Late August – New students arrive on campus for orientation.
