Leadership begins with a journey...
As Christ’s disciples, we are called to a quest, which we’re promised will take us to dangerous and uncomfortable places. We are called to be leaders on this quest – leaders in our character, in the way we interact with others and in our choices.
The Leadership Journey™ at Cornerstone University is the beginning of this quest where you will learn what it means to be a servant-leader and how to lead by example. LJ is a year-long experiential training program that defines leadership within the concept of self, others, action and community.
It begins two weeks prior to the official start of the fall semester, including a week at Grace Adventures camp in Mears, Mich., where you will begin a Cornerstone course called “
MGT-100 Leadership in Culture,” and a week on campus where you will take another course called “
IDS-101 Creativity, Innovation & Problem Solving.” As the fall semester officially starts, you take what you’ve begun to learn and spend your entire first year putting it into action in a small group facilitated by a Cornerstone faculty or staff mentor.
