What Up, Tesa?!?

Apr 15, 2009

We have yet another contestant! I am pleasantly surprised, you guys! Yay for you!

Tesa asks:

I was wondering if you could tell me about some of the activities or  things your do at Cornerstone, like with friends. And if there is anything people can get involved with regarding music...even if they're not a music major?

My answer:

There are so many things to do on campus and off. My personal preference is finding coffee shops around Grand Rapids. Some students of the more athletic persuasion get together and play football or ultimate frisbee outside of the dorms. Also, living in the dorms, your resident assistant will plan super fun activities for you and your section to do!

There are a ton of musical things that you can be involved in without being a music major. You can be in one of two choirs on campus, band, the musical production in the spring, chapel worship teams, and a lot of other ensembles. (I was the right girl to ask, Tesa :D ) Also, you can always take classes in music if you're interested in that but don't want to be a music major!

Thanks, Tesa!

Who's next!

Contestant Numero Dos!

Apr 13, 2009

Alas, a shiny glimmer of hope...what a relief.

Welcome contestant number two, Megan!

Megan asks:

What are the dorms like? I am already accepted, and I will be playing volleyball in the fall. Is cook hall a good choice?

My answer:

The dorms are AWESOME! It is definitely the best choice to live in them especially in your freshman year. It is incredible how effectively community is built up in the dorms. You will be surprised how fast you will make close friends with the other women in your section. Cook hall is a great choice! (Although I chose Pickitt...whatever, Megan.) I have had a lot of friends who live/lived there and they loved it! Just be the shiny glimmer of hope in an empty inbox like you were to me and you'll be just fantastic! I can't wait to meet you in the fall!

Thanks for the question! Any other volunteers? I would try to threaten you people with the whole "I know where you live" spiel but that would be utterly false. And we're not supposed to lie...

Oh, Yeah...Blogging.

Apr 1, 2009

So, I'm back from spring break...for a while now.

I promise that my intention was NOT to disregard my loyal readers :)

I've been insanely busy since I got back from Florida. (Which was FANTASTIC, thanks for asking.) Seussical's opening weekend was this last weekend. It went great and everyone seems to really like it. We have one more weekend of shows if any of you want to see me hop around stage like an idiot kangaroo for an hour and a half. We have shows Thursday-Saturday at 8pm and Sunday at 2pm.

In other news, I have received one question from you people. ONE! I am losing faith in young American society. YOU BE THE CHANGE I WISH TO SEE! :) Send me questions, homies.

Spring Break Doth Approach!

Mar 5, 2009

I think the title really speaks for itself here.

Right about now I'm sitting in the library writing papers (and this blog for a short breather). To paint you a picture of how silent it is in here, someone just sneezed and I almost yelled. Oopsies :)

This time tomorrow, I will be in the car with my best friend on the way to FLORIDA! Whoo hoo!

When I get back, I expect to see an inbox full of questions from you beautiful people. Don't let me down. :D

Please Welcome Our First Guest, Alyssa D!!!

Mar 4, 2009

Alyssa asks:

"Do the athletic games (mainly basketball) have a large fanbase and student section? I really want the large college feel and big athletic support like large colleges, but with that with a small college feel."

My answer:

There has been a big emphasis this year on showing more support for our athletes. That is not to say that we have a huge lack of support right now but we can always use more! The woman's and men's basketball teams are doing really really well this year and that has been bringing a ton more people out to the games. If you want to read more about our teams, follow this link!
