Stowell Featured at Race to Unity

Nov 4, 2009

Dr. Joe Stowell, president of Cornerstone University, and Dr. Tony Evans, senior pastor of Oak Cliff Bible Fellowship in Dallas, are the featured speakers at the Race To Unity Conference this week in Kentwood.

The conference will be held at Kentwood Community Church beginning at 7:30 p.m., Nov. 5, and all day on Nov. 6 at the sponsoring church.

Race to Unity is a non-profit ministry with a mission to unify the body of Christ using a network of pastors/church leaders working collaboratively.

The ministry also hopes to identify and remove the known and the discovered articles of division and to create new vocabulary (dropping some cultural colloquialisms that are divisive).

“We Believe that it is essential to the health of the body of Christ, and to world evangelism, that the body of Christ in America remove the racial divisions that are so obvious to all other nations,” the Race to Unity Web site explains.

Other speakers include: David Anderson, Robyn Afrik, Katrina Browne, Chico Daniels, Scott Hagan, Ray McMillian, Rik Stevenson, Marvin Williams and Dwight Wilkins.
