Built in 1964, Quincer residence hall stands as the ultimate housing legacy on the campus of Cornerstone University. Every male who had a residential experience in Quincer is filled with stories. Many of those are positive. Fewer can be printed!
In 2007 the decision was made to mothball “the Q” and transform it into faculty offices. It was a much needed decision at the time, but after four years the legend of Quincer endures.
In the fall of 2011 Cornerstone will welcome a new class of approximately 425 incoming freshmen. Roughly 190 of them will be male and so, let us praise the decision to return Quincer to its rightful place as the bastion of the male freshmen experience.
The 30 rooms that comprise this residential hallmark will allow 90 males to enjoy a “palatial” lifestyle in the center of the thriving, engaging campus at CU. We know that the best years were spent with greater numbers per rooms.
As legend has it, to fully embrace the “Quincer experience” more than three are required as it was in the years of yore. But new student preferences, physical requirements and a new-found adherence to local ordinances require us to limit this quintessential, almost resort-like experience.
It is now our desire to engage with alumni as the beneficiary of all things good at CU, in regards to the lifelong friends and experiences Quincer provided. We invite all alumni to join with us as we bring Quincer back to life.
