Council for Christian Colleges & Universities
Cornerstone is one of 110 colleges and universities who belong to the CCCU. This membership provides Cornerstone the ability to enhance the education our students receive, while maintaining our core beliefs. Some of the benefits of membership include conferences, study-abroad opportunities, and student survey results tailored to a group of like-minded institutions.
The Council of Independent Colleges
Founded in 1956, the Council of Independent Colleges (CIC) is an association of independent colleges and universities working together to:
- support college and university leadership,
- advance institutional excellence, and
- enhance private higher education's contributions to society
CIC is the major national service organization for all small and mid-sized, independent, liberal arts colleges and universities in the U.S. CIC focuses on providing services to campus leaders as well as seminars, workshops, and programs that assist institutions in improving educational programs, administrative and financial performance, and institutional visibility.
ECFA is an accreditation agency dedicated to helping Christian ministries earn the public’s trust through adherence to Seven Standards of Responsible StewardshipTM. Founded in 1979, ECFA provides accreditation to leading Christian nonprofit organizations that faithfully demonstrate compliance with established standards for financial accountability, fundraising and board governance.
National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics
The NAIA is a governing body for collegiate athletic programs in North America. Nearly 300 colleges and universities in the United States and Canada have chosen to align their athletic programs with the NAIA. A leader in the development of student-athletes, the NAIA is a pioneer in implementing exceptional standards for academics, diversity and character.
Association of Christian Schools International
Graduates of Cornerstone’s teacher education programs are certified by ACSI. ACSI’s mission is to enable and equip Christian educators and schools worldwide to effectively educate children and young people with the mind of Christ.
Michigan Academy of Science Arts & Letters
The Michigan Academy of Science, Arts and Letters is a regional, professional organization that facilitates scholarly exchange through annual conferences and a journal of outstanding papers. The Academy’s primary activities are hosting an annual conference, usually held in March and hosted by one of its member institutions, and the publication of an academic journal the Michigan Academician.
Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference
The WHAC is a partnership of student-focused institutions with a strong tradition and shared commitment towards academic achievement, service to our community and developing life skills through character-driven athletics.
Phi Sigma Iota
Phi Sigma Iota recognizes outstanding accomplishment in the study or teaching of any of the academic fields related to foreign language, literature, or culture. Phi Sigma Iota is the highest academic honor in the field of foreign languages.
Students in Free Enterprise
Students in Free Enterprise is an international organization that works with leaders in business and higher education to mobilize university students to make a difference in their communities while developing the skills to become socially responsible business leaders. Cornerstone is one of under 600 U.S. universities with a SIFE chapter, and we participate with nearly 1,000 universities in other nations.

The purposes of Sigma Beta Delta are to encourage and recognize scholarship and achievement among students of business, management and administration, and to encourage and promote personal and professional improvement and a life distinguished by honorable service to humankind.
