Student Four Year Plan Freshman Year Discuss career plans with a staff member in the Student Career Services Office Career Assessment (personality, skills, interests, values) Decisions about majors and minors Discussion about career opportunities related to majors and minors Develop a resume with the assistance of the Career Services staff Check Career Services for future job opportunities and referrals Check on job opportunities to begin building valuable experience that will prepare you for your required internship and ultimate career Sophomore Year Declare a major by end of year, if undecided, set up an appointment with a staff member in the Career Services Office Meet with a member of the Career Services Office to discuss your internship possibilities Provide the office with a resume Complete a portion of the internship application Seek part-time, and summer jobs, or volunteer opportunities that relate to your major/career choice Attend career fairs, career emphasis programs and activities, guest speakers that relate to your career or internship opportunities Junior Year Meet with a member of the Career Services Office to start the internship site search process Prepare or update your resume with the assistance of the Career Services Staff Meet with a Career Services staff member to develop your job search skills. Develop the ability to write a cover level and handle job interviews. Senior Year Check in with the Career Services Office to receive assistance in finding job opportunities that match your career interests Teacher candidates should complete their credential file and submit it to Student Career Services if they would like Career Services to send it out for them Attend any and all career/job fairs that are available Plan to spend a minimum of two hours a week on your job search.
