Current Projects

Seema Marketing

Night of Nets

Students will work with Chip Huber to develop a sustainable process for schools and organizations across the country who want to host a Night of Nets event at their facility. They will also pursue a marketing plan to raise awareness of the program on a national level.

THE Project 2015-Project Management Institute

Every year, the WMPMI poses a question and schools in West Michigan compete to come up with the best solution. This year the scenario is about improving the affordability of higher education in Michigan. Team members will work alongside two project management mentors from the Project Management Institute (PMI) to develop and present a project plan.

Career Training Reboot

This project seeks to teach students how to build a winning resume, how to interview, and how to land a job or internship. Last year, other events included other events such as "Women in the Workplace." We are building confidence in our students and working together with the new Life and Calling Resource Department to help CU students succeed after school.

Shower Heads Phase 2

Using a $500 Home Depot grant, team members will determine the best place to install low-flow showerheads on campus and measure the water savings before/after implementation.

Social Media on a Budget

The team will be teaching non-profit organizations and small businesses the finer strategies of social media through three breakfast seminars. The topics will range from Social Media Strategy, Beginner and Advanced Topics. After the seminars, we will consult with a few organizations and work with them to build and track their growth. Curriculum is written by the team.

Sustainability Project

To help fund our project activities, the Enactus team will run an Exam Week Survival Kit fundraiser. A request will be sent to all parents about purchasing a survival kit for their student, and we fill those requests with underwritten supplies. This team would also investigate new fundraising sources for our Enactus team.

Soap Deli Marketing Campaign

A local small business is in need of a fresh look to her marketing materials. Team members will create a brochure, rack cards, update their website to an e-commerce website, and develop a marketing plan to promote Christmas gift basket giving. Project will be funded by the Enactus Uncap Opportunities for Women & Sam’s Step up for Small Business Project Partnerships.

Coffee Shop Start-Up

Team members will research the possibilities of a coffee shop start-up as a funding source for Enactus projects as well as serving the needs of our community. The project is in the ideation phase, and is working on a Business Plan document to move forward.

Alpha Women's Center

Students will design and execute a Workforce Development program that offers training/services in Job Preparedness and Adult Basic Education for the women who are served by Alpha Women’s Center. Curriculum will include Job Skills and Personal Finance Training. Students will also promote a Business Suit Drive for Alpha Women's Center clients and create a mentor/donor recruitment brochure.

Idea Pitch Competition for High School Students

Team will coordinate and facilitate an Idea Pitch Competition for local high school students. This would provide both a recruiting event for potential Cornerstone students as well as an educational opportunity about entrepreneurial endeavors.

Team will educate the Grand Rapids community about the benefits of microfinancing on global communities and economies and provide opportunities to support global small businesses through fund raising activities.
