The Henry Osborn Award in Applied Linguistics and TESOL
Cornerstone University established the Henry Osborn Award in Applied Linguistics and TESOL in 2007 to honor Dr. Henry Osborn, a linguistics professor and administrator at Cornerstone University from 1969-1985. The motto of Cornerstone University is excellens academica cum commisso christo, which means "academic excellence with Christian commitment." Recipients of this award have demonstrated high academic excellence in the fields of Applied Linguistics or TESOL, and deep Christian commitment. This Christian commitment is demonstrated through examples of sacrificial service on the mission field and through the local church.
The Henry Osborn Award symbolizes the commitment of the TESOL program at Cornerstone University to see faculty and students produce quality scholarship while ministering to the world in need.
