The Admissions team is preparing for and counting down the days to your arrival on campus! We are glad to have you as a fellow Grand Rapidian and are thrilled to welcome you to the Cornerstone University community. As you finalize semester details, know that members of the campus community are actively praying for you and your family.

Welcome Day Details

  • Date: Friday, Sept. 2, 2016
  • Arrival Times: Upon your arrival on campus, you'll check-in, review your schedule for the day and receive information on Terra Firma. 
    • 9 a.m. — Pickitt, Quincer & Keithley Students arrive on campus and check-in.
    • 10:30 a.m. — Commuter students arrive on campus and check-in.
    • 11 a.m. — Cook & Van Osdel Students arrive on campus and check-in.
    • 4 p.m. — Dedication service and parent farewell
    • 6 p.m. — Terra Firma and orientation week activities begin promptly at 6 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 2 for both residential and commuter students.
  • Location: Check-in at the Bernice Hansen Athletic Center

Incoming Student Checklist

  1. Complete the 'Final Steps' section of the Financial Aid Student Checklist.
  2. Finalize your admission file.
  3. Return Health Services paperwork.
    • Complete and return your health forms to the Health Services office. This may require that you schedule a doctor's appointment.
      • Deadline: July 5, 2016

  4. Prepare for your semester.

Common Questions

  • Q: When should I arrive on campus?
    A: Welcome day is Friday, September 2. You will receive full arrival details in the mail.

  • Q: Can I arrive earlier than the day of Welcome Day?
    A: Students are not permitted to move into residence halls prior to Welcome Day due to student staff training.

  • Q: When will I find out my housing assignment and roommate information?
    A: You will be notified of your residence hall and roommate assignments via your Cornerstone email address. Please refer to the Welcome Day packet you received in the mail on how to access your CU email address and the CU Portal.

  • Q: What size are the mattresses at CU?
    A: We provide extra long, twin size mattresses in all residence halls.

  • Q: How do I find a job on campus?
    A: Locate and apply for on-campus job postings through Handshake.
