2. Yesterdog

You might need a lot of napkins at Yesterdog. They offer hotdogs with generous topping portions. It is both delicious and eclectic. The best part is that it won't break the bank.

Located in East Grand Rapids, Electric Cheetah is as vibrant as the neighborhood surrounding it. Besides boasting an exorbitant amount of root beers to try, Electric Cheetah also has sandwiches, soup, macaroni and cheese and a host of signature dishes.

4. Twisted Rooster

One of the best things about Twisted Rooster is that their menu is locally sourced. The food is fresh and supports the Michigan economy. Situated just a mile or two from campus, Twisted Rooster is a great place to take your parents when they come to visit you.

5. Hopcat

Two words: Crack Fries. Nationally recognized as one of America's top 10 french fries, you can't go wrong at Hopcat. For a college student budget, they have great specials when you can get Crack Fries half off.

6. Stella's

Visiting Stella's will take you back to your childhood. Inside their downtown location, there is wide array of coin arcade games. While you wait for your table, you can play a few games and maybe even get a high score.

7. Downtown Market

Downtown Market is the place for options. Various restaurants and vendors are set-up throughout the building. You can purchase tacos, cupcakes, Thai food or even barbeque. There is an immense amount of seating and a beautiful greenhouse that is warm even in the winter.
